Some tips, tricks and products to keep your face youthful.

We all know that with age comes beauty and that we age like wine- the older we get the better we are. But something seems to keep woman away from experiencing life in their prime. Wrinkles, saggy skin, dark spots and thats just to name a few of the effects that age has on our skin. If your young and you don't have these problems yet, you can thank the stars, but prevention is always better than cure, so start doing some of these things to prevent/lessen the appearance of these pesky "effects of age".
"HYDRATED SKIN IS HAPPY SKIN", MY MOTHER ALWAYS SAID. BUT IT'S TRUE, WHAT YOU CONSUME DOES HAVE AN EFFECT ON YOUR SKIN. DRINKING LOTS OF WATER CAN FLUSH TOXINS OUT OF YOUR BODY AND THUS IMPROVING YOUR SKIN.
But unfortunately, achieving great skin is not as easy as drinking eight glasses of water a day, we also have to actually moisturize it every day, twice a day even.
SPF!!!
SPF is key when it comes to your skin, especially if your young. Even if your just going to be in your car, on the road the whole day, apply SPF. UV rays have been scientifically proven to age skin cells and damage their DNA, it's linked to long term skin problems such as wrinkles, dryness, accentuated skin furrows, sagging, loss of elasticity, and mottled pigmentation but they also increase the risk of skin cancer. SPF comes in many forms these days. Moisturizers, foundation, bb creams...the list can literally go on forever. The higher the SPF the better, because the higher the number, the longer you are protected against the sun. Don't know which SPF to use? Here's a few to look into.
GET SOME Z'S
Getting at least six to eight hours of sleep a day is essential. It lets your body recover from all the stress of the day before. While sleeping, your body produces growth hormones to facilitate the use of amino acids as they repair bone, muscle and tissue. This includes the repair of the skin. Now you know why they call it beauty sleep.
DERMAROLLING
Yes, the concept of rolling a bunch of needles onto your face doesn't sound pleasant at all but there is method to this madness. Dermarolling has been known to reduce wrinkles, fine lines, stretch marks, dark spots and sagging skin. The reason dermarolling works, is because it stimulates the natural collagen in your skin. It also makes it easier for products to be absorbed into the skin.
VITAMINS AND SUPPLEMENTS
Taking daily vitamins can keep your skin looking heathly and youthful and with today's technology you don't have to go and eat everything that contains these essential vitamins, you can just take vitamin supplements. The best vitamins for your skin are Vitamin D,C,E and K. You don't have to go and buy these vitamins separately buying a supplement that is designed for your skin is cheaper and more effective as they are scientifically designed to aid in skin regeneration. Here is a honorable mention that will fit your budget:
-Vital - Hair, Skin & Nails Supplement
EXFOLIATE
Exfoliation of the skin is one of the most important things anyone can do. We shed dead skin cells every hour of every day and most of the time the dead skin cells don't fall off. When this happens, the new layer of skin underneath can't breath or absorb anything. Exfoliating twice a week can remove all the dead skin, help improve blood circulation to the skin and aid in acne prevention. Here are some of my absolute favorite exfoliators:
FACIAL YOGA
Exercising your face muscles works on the same concept as exercising any muscle, exercise tightens the muscle and thus doing some facial exercises can do some really awesome things like reduce wrinkles and improve elasticity. Fumiko Takatsu is the creator of this wonderful yoga. You can go over to her page to see some of the amazing exercises that she has for all your facial needs.
THE CHEAT
Yes, there is a cheat. Today's technolagy has given us the wonders of anti-aging creams. There are a few that really don't work but some products do have remarkable results. Ranging from creams that remove wrinkles to creams that actually increase the skins elasticity. There are a wide range of these "wonder creams" out there and it's all about finding the right one and making sure that they have ingredients that actually aid the skin, like Collagen , anti-oxidants , Hyaluronic Acid, Retinol and peptides. I have searched the web to find these, who have some pretty amazing ingredients:
There are so many more things you can do, but it all starts with dedication and determination. If you don't work for it, it won't happen. It's literally all up to you. Meadow's Lane will be looking into some anti-aging for hands and in the near future we will post about some simple tips and tricks to aid you in your weight loss journey.
